We may find that the goals we want to achieve in life is almost impossible- the task too enormous, the goal too far reached. Often, we become disheartened and give up before we even begin.
The next time you feel that way, just take small gradual steps- take the first step, get started. Keep on doing- but just spending a little time everyday or few days a week, you will see impressive results over time. But before your hard work can bear fruits, you would need to be patient.
Like prayers- for those who practice daily prayers or meditate, it is only a few minutes a day but over time, you can feel the transformation in yourself.
If you want to save- just small amounts every day that you put aside to invest can bear multiple results over time- like a story of a frugal lady who left millions when she died- because despite earning only a small wage, she invested her earnings. Another colleague of my friend who worked only as a bank clerk made use of the bank’s housing loan benefit, and saved to pay for mortgage. Today, she retired with 3 properties all paid up in her own name in which she is collecting rental.
If you want to learn a foreign language, just a word a day and in one year, you will know 365 words. Which is impressive for a non native speaker/writer.
If you feel your health is no good, spend a few minutes everyday doing chi kung exercises before you sleep and when you wake up- to neutralize negative energies- and in no time, you will have more energy, and enjoy a better sense of well-being.
Wanna have a blog with massive blog posts? Then devote a little time each day or few times a week to write blog posts. Before you know it, you’ll have a blog with thousands of posts. As your posts built up, so would traffic. Sounds too far fetched? If you do it one shot, you’ll burn yourself out and give up- but if you take it one post at a time, you will see the effects over time. Sometimes when I look back over at this blog and my Health Blog, I am amazed that with just a little effort few times a week could accumulate to hundreds of posts. If you break big tasks into small ones, often you would not feel the strain.
Just like drops of water gradually fill up the ocean and grains of sand forms miles of dessert- do not underestimate the power of slow, steady and consistent. Just devote a little time each day and sit back and watch the result.
