The age of technology cannot match a handmade card

Tis Thing Called Life

Today, we communicate with our friends and send our greetings using sms, Facebook and email. Handmade cards or handwriten letters- hey they’re out of fashion. No one does it anymore.

But take a look at the pictures below. And tell me, what lights up your day more- some Facebook Superpoke, Hug Me or e-card or what you see below:

A few of my classmates made this for me when I was 15

...I was feeling really down and exams was coming. I felt all alone and both of us were studying in different states. She quickly took time to make the card to cheer me up. Till today, we are still best of friends

Many of those friends have moved into new phrase of life- having responsibility, demanding jobs and carrying for their babies. But at the point when these gifts were given, they mean a lot.

Like many others, I have also been sucked in by the electronic age where everything is about speed and convenience. It has been years since I’ve sent out any handwriten birthday or greeting cards to anymore. I too, have been guilty of resorting to mobile phone, sms or the internet to deliver an instant and quick message.

Perhaps, we should just take a little time to brighten up someone’s day by giving something more personalised and possibly handmade. The kids now do not know this- but it is all these personal touches that made us really human. Especially if you know of someone who is feeling down- a handwriten card means much more than a typed message.
