The Movie Marley and Me

Drama, Tis Thing Called Life

Marley1

The movie Marley and Me, starring Owen Wilson (John) and Jennifer Aniston (Jenny) can relate to people. It’s about a couple who started out with a very naughty and mischievous puppy who later have 3 kids and move 2 houses. Part of the story line shows us Marley, the Labrador, from a puppy, all the way till his old age and passing away.

Marley is a very naughty and mischievous dog. He would often bite or chew on things, bark all the time, eat the kids’ food, terrify babysitters so that no one wants to take care of the baby.

At the start when you watch the show, you may be tempted to strangle the naughty dog yourself for causing so much of mischief. But as the show progress, you feel the love for the animal, just like the characters in the show did.

Many pets or even people may be the Marleys in our lives. Outwardly, they can be annoying, irritating and destructive. But beneath all that, lies a heart of pure gold. Love them and they give loyalty and unconditional love.

Here are some scenes from the show that I’ve snapped from my TV. Being an animal lover myself, the movie really pulled at my heartstrings. I thought it would be good to ‘immortalized’ the memory of the show in this blog:

What made you into a great dog is that you love us no matter what. You know how much we love you… we love you so much… more than anything.

I want you to remember that you are a great dog….you are a great dog

Jenny- at Marley’s ‘funeral’ as she removed the necklace that she had been wearing for many years and put into Marley’s grave. Years ago when John first bought the necklace for Jenny, Marley snapped it and swallowed it. John had to wait for Marley to poo poo out the necklace. Her message to her son and Marley:

Your dad gave it to me to celebrate the beginning of our family but it has already begun.

Bye bye clearance puppy.

The closing words as narrated by John (Owen Wilson):

A dog have no use for fancy cars,…

A waterlog stick will do just fine.

A dog doesn’t care if you are clever or rich, smart or dumb.

Give him your heart and he will give you his.

How many people can make you feel rare, pure or special?

How many people can make you feel extraordinary?

Truly a great show…. down to earth and relate to most of us…
